Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist

March 19 @ 8:30 am - 9:30 am

WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Worship with us at our 8:30 AM Sunday Eucharist on The Fourth Sunday of Lent. Vicar Robert Alan Shivers preaches, “Holy Communion: This Is the One” (1 Samuel 16:1-13). The color of the day is violet signifying our sorrow over our sin. The Sundays in Lent are little Easters and are not included in the forty days of Lent, which began on Ash Wednesday.

From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads at 6 p.m. on Sunday in the singing of joyous hymns: “Awake, O Sleeper, Rise from Death” (Entrance); “God’s Own Child, I Gladly Say It” (Hymn of the Day); “Amazing Grace, How Sweet the Sound” (Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “You Satisfy the Hungry Heart”; “Open Our Eyes, Lord”; “O Son of God in Galilee.”

Special music for the weekend includes: Bill Glisson’s organ prelude “Awake, O Sleeper” (Whitsett); Annie Jewell sings, “Set Me As A Seal Upon Your Heart” (Page) at the 11 a.m. offering; Bill’s postlude, “Toccata on Amazing Grace.”
