TO SCHEDULE TIME OR SHARE IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITH A PASTOR
Pastor Sam Zumwalt, firstname.lastname@example.org , 791-4582 x200. Pastor Sam works full-time as the congregation’s Senior Pastor. In addition to his primary work as chief preacher (4 weekly services) and teacher (5 weekly classes) and supervisor of staff and partner in ministry with lay leaders, Pastor Sam routinely makes hospital visits, has appointments for pastoral conversations in offices, restaurants, and homes, and is available for crisis ministry. Typically, a non-emergency appointment can be scheduled within a few days or sooner. Pastor Sam’s day off is on Friday.
Dial 791-4582. If a person answers, tell them this is an emergency and ask them to page the pastor. If the answering service picks up, please press “1” and then leave a brief message including phone number and name and the nature of the emergency. Someone will respond quickly to a medical emergency or crisis. Please do not leave general messages on the emergency voice mailbox even if they are important. Rather leave general messages on the personal staff voice mailboxes or on the general voice mailbox.
TO ADD A NAME TO THE PRAYER LIST
Please phone 791-4582 x202 or e-mail Donna Capozio at email@example.com by Tuesday morning of each week to have a name added to the prayer list in the weekend worship bulletins or e-mail Pastor Sam firstname.lastname@example.org
Our St. Matthew’s Prayer Group meets Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the church library and always prays for all the people on our prayer list. To join in prayer with the group, just show up.
Be sure to let us know further progress particularly when your prayer concern involves someone not part of St. Matthew’s congregation and when that person no longer needs to be included on the prayer list.
TO INFORM US REGARDING HOSPITALIZATIONS OR OUT-PATIENT SURGERIES
During normal business hours and/or if the answering service picks up, please leave a message on a pastoral voice mailbox or inform Donna Capozio email@example.com of hospitalizations or pending surgeries. Both a lay hospital visitor and one or both pastors will typically see hospitalized patients. If you have a pending surgery and want a pastoral visit prior to surgery, please let Donna know OR use the pastoral contact information above.
TO ARRANGE FOR A STEPHEN MINISTER
If you think you might need a Stephen Minister or know someone who might have such a need, please inform one of the pastors using the contact information above. Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christian care, one-on-one, with hurting people experiencing grief and loss related to death, illness, divorce, unemployment, etc. A trained Stephen Minister will be assigned to a person of the same sex, typically for a period of several months on a confidential basis.
