Prayers of the Church for September 13, 2020

Assisting Minister: Rejoicing in the forgiveness of sins and the promise of life and salvation, let us pray with the Lord Jesus for the unity of His Church, for Bishops Eaton and Smith; for Francis, Bartholomew, and all bishops; for all pastors including Samuel Zumwalt; Marvin Schedler; Bob Kuppler; Peter Hoyer; Michael Bergbower; Joel Kettner; for Stephen Ministers; the people of God, and for all people according to their needs. [pause]

A:  Almighty Father, grant that we, who have been redeemed from the old life of sin by our baptism in to the death and resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ, may be renewed in your Holy Spirit to live in righteousness and true holiness; through Jesus Christ. Lord, in your mercy,

C:  hear our prayer.

A: Compassionate Father, it is your will to hold both heaven and earth in a single peace. Let the design of your great love shine on the waste of our wraths and sorrows, and give peace to your Church, peace among nations, peace in our homes, and peace in our hearts; through Jesus Christ. Lord, in your mercy,

A:  Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of every precious life in this world, both born and unborn; for all who are pregnant especially Sarah Bishton, Kelli Miller, Mandy Harrington, and their children; and for those celebrating birthdays: Dean Weber; Elaine Willow; Samuel Mowrey; Caroline Todd; Sheila Mallo; Alexandra Schwartz; Connor Mough. Lord, in your mercy,

A:  Loving Father, we ask You to strengthen the marriages of all Your people: that husbands and wives may be signs of Christ’s faithfulness to His holy bride, the Church. We thank You for those celebrating anniversaries: Mike & Cindy Perretta; Dave & Peggy Davis. Lord, in your mercy,

C:  hear our prayer.

A:  Merciful Father, hear us as we cry to You for the sake of the sick, the troubled in mind, the wounded in heart and those who grieve, especially the families of Jerry Loftin; Pr. Frank Perry; Eric West; and the victims of wildfires and violence. We ask Your mercy for Rose Weidman; Raewyn McCombs; Patty Macino; Doris Ullman; Carol Comeskey;  Lani Beuerman; Vivian Alexander; Denis Hall; Bishop Mayfield; Paul Bakke; Sue & Terry Miller; Pr. Bob & Lois Kuppler; Paul Rady; Donna Franklin; Phyllis Luick; Jane Dumire; the persecuted Church in Nigeria; and those we name aloud or in the silence of our hearts… Lord, in your mercy,

A:  Gracious Father, by your Holy Spirit, grant grace to all who receive Your Son’s true Body and most precious Blood: that we may show forth the fruits of the Holy Spirit in lives of faith, repentance and goodness. Lord, in Your mercy,
