Sunday 11:00 AM Eucharist

January 24, 2021

We welcome you in Jesus’ name to worship with us at our Sunday 11:00 AM Eucharist on this Third Sunday after Epiphany. Paul reminds us of the impermanence of this life with its earthly joys and sorrows. Because this world is passing away, Christians ought never to let its good things to replace the one thing needful… the grace and mercy of God in Jesus Christ. Therefore, the Lord’s call to discipleship is always to a cross-shaped life in this world and onward to the endless joy of the life to come. Father Peter Hoyer is our guest preacher and presider this weekend while Pastor Zumwalt enjoys his remaining vacation week from 2020, the year of the coronavirus. From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the singing of joyous hymns: “Songs of Thankfulness and Praise” (Entrance); “In the Morning When I Rise” (Hymn of the Day); “We Are Marching in the Light of God” (Recessional);
Distribution Hymns are; “O Christ, Who Called the Twelve”; “Jesus Calls Us; O’er the Tumult” The color of the day is green for ordinary time.

Other special music includes: “Song of Thankfulness and Praise” will be Bill Glisson’s prelude; “Lord Be Glorified” is the offering anthem presented by the Adult Choir. “SIYAHAMBA” will be Bill Glisson’s postlude.
