Sunday 11:00 AM Eucharist

July 24, 2022

WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Worship with us at our 11:00 AM Sunday Eucharist on the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost. The Rev’d. Fr. Samuel David Zumwalt preaches, “Holy Baptism: The 6th Commandment” (Luther’s Large Catechism on the Sixth Commandment and Colossians 2:6-15). The color of the day is green signifying growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. To prepare for the sermon, please review Martin Luther’s explanation of the 6th commandment here:

From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the traditional Eucharists on Sunday in the singing of joyous hymns: “Open Now Thy Gates of Beauty” (Entrance); “O Father, All Creating” (Hymn of the Day); “Father, Most Holy” (Recessional). Our 11am distribution hymns are: “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”; and “Day by Day.”

Special music for the weekend includes: Bill Glisson’s prelude “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” (Wood); Accompanied by Bill Glisson, Annie Jewell sings “Wade in the Water” (Schram) for the offering; Bill’s organ postlude, “Trumpet Tune” (Raabe).
