Sunday 11:00 AM Eucharist
June 6, 2021
We welcome you in Jesus’ name to celebrate with us on the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, at our 11:00 AM Eucharist. Pastor Samuel Zumwalt preaches “The Word of God: Increases Thanksgiving,” a sermon based on 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1. From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads on Sunday: “To God Be the Glory” (Entrance); “Now Thank We All Our God” (Hymn of the Day); “A Mighty Fortress” (Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “I Will Arise and Go to Jesus”; “Draw Near and Take the Body of the Lord,” and “Have No Fear, Little Flock.” You are invited to wear something green, the color for Sundays in ordinary time, signifying our continuing growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit.
We recognize our graduates this weekend and offer a blessing to high school graduates and their parents during the 11 a.m. Eucharist. The Fellowship Team will host a reception at 9:45 a.m. Stephen Ministry will also offer an interest meeting at 9:45 a.m. in the church library.
Special music for the weekend includes: Organ prelude, “Now Thank We All Our God” (Manz); Teresa Hall solo offering, “An Irish Blessing” (Lightfoot); and organ postlude, “To God Be the Glory” (Wagner). Bill Glisson, Director of Music leads the liturgy and hymns from the Austin pipe organ and accompanies Teresa Hall, soloist, on the piano.
