Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist
July 4, 2021
WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! and Worship with us at our 8:30 AM Sunday Eucharist on the 6th Sunday after Pentecost. Pastor Samuel Zumwalt preaches “The Word of God: Strengthens Weakness,” a sermon based on 2 Corinthians 12:1-10. From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads on Sunday: “God of Our Fathers” (Entrance); “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” (Hymn of the Day); “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” (Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “Living for Jesus,” “O, Christ, Our True and Only Light,” and “Before You, Lord, We Bow.” The color for Sundays in ordinary time is green, signifying our continuing growth in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. You are invited to wear red, white, and blue in celebration of God’s gift of our freedom.
Special music for the weekend includes: for the pre-service music “Praise the Lord” (Howland) and “America” (Carey); a quartet (Gina Martuscelli, Emily Burke, Kevin Ulisnik, and Joe Huppmann) sings “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” (Hayes) for the Sunday offering, and Bill Glisson plays the organ postlude, “God of our Fathers” (Lowry/Smith/Hustad).
