Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist

June 19, 2022

WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Worship with us at our 8:30 AM Sunday Eucharist on the Second Sunday after Pentecost. As you are able, bring Dad to worship with you. A gift will be given to each father, grandfather, and godfather. The Rev’d. Fr. Samuel David Zumwalt preaches, “Holy Baptism: The First Commandment” (Luther’s Large Catechism on the First Commandment and Galatians 3:23-29). The color of the day is green signifying growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. We also honor and remember our fathers, grandfathers, and godfathers in worship. To prepare for the sermon, please review Martin Luther’s explanation of the First commandment here:

From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the traditional Eucharists on Sunday in the singing of joyous hymns: “This Is My Father’s World” (Saturday Entrance); “Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness” (Sunday Entrance); “Our Father by Whose Name” (Hymn of the Day); “God of Grace and God of Glory” (Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “Eternal Father, Strong to Save”; “This Is My Father’s World.”

Special music for the weekend includes: Bill Glisson’s prelude “This Is My Father’s World” (Maxwell); Annie Jewell’s violin Sunday offering “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty” (DeRousse); Bill’s organ postlude, “God of Grace and God of Glory” (Manz).
