Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist

September 5, 2021

WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! and Worship with us at our 8:30 AM Sunday Eucharist on the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost. The Rev’d. Dr. Samuel David Zumwalt, STS, preaches the sermon, “The Word of God: Works” (James 2:1-18). From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads on Sunday: “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing” (Entrance); “O Christ, Your Heart Compassionate” (Hymn of the Day); “Sent Forth by God’s Blessing” (Sunday Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “There Is a Balm in Gilead,” “Draw Near and Take the Body of the Lord,” and “Lord of All Hopefulness.” The color for Sunday is green signifying growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. You are invited to wear green to worship.

Special music for the weekend: Accompanied by Bill Glisson, our new Adult Choir Director Annie Jewell plays on violin, “My Shepherd Will Supply My Need” (DeRouse). At the offering, Annie Jewell plays on violin, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” (DeRouse). For the organ postlude, Bill Glisson plays “The Ash Grove” (Pelz).
