Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist

February 21, 2021

We welcome you in Jesus’ name to worship with us at our Sunday 8:30 AM Eucharist on the First Sunday in Lent. Guest Pastor John Priest, STS, preaches “The Word of God: Testing” based on Genesis 22:1-18. From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads the singing of joyous hymns: “The Great Litany” (Entrance); “A Mighty Fortress” (Hymn of the Day); “Saviour, When in Dust to Thee “(Spanish Hymn tune for the Recessional). Our Sunday distribution hymns are: “Jesus, Lead Thou On,” “O Christ, You Walked the Road”, and “Thy Holy Wings.” The color of the day is violet for the Lenten season.

Other special music includes: “Ein Feste Burg” (Aber) will be Bill Glisson’s prelude; “How Beautiful” (Paris) is the choir anthem at the 8:30 am offering; “Toccatina in A Minor” (Peterson) will be Bill Glisson’s postlude.
