Saturday Night Eucharist
January 21, 2023
WELCOME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! Worship with us at our 6:00 PM Saturday Night Eucharist on The Third Sunday after Epiphany. The Rev’d. Fr. Samuel David Zumwalt preaches, “Holy Communion: Holy Breaker” (Isaiah 9:1-4). The color of the day is green signifying growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Father, and the Holy Spirit. The Sundays after Epiphany are not a season but are known as ordinary time, from the Latin “ordinalis” for number.
From the console of our 47 rank Austin pipe organ with trompette-en-chamade, Bill Glisson leads at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the singing of joyous hymns: “The Church’s One Foundation” (Entrance); “Praise the One Who Breaks the Darkness” (Hymn of the Day); “I Love to Tell the Story” (Recessional).
Special music for traditional worship includes: Bill Glisson’s organ prelude, “The Church’s One Foundation” (Scott); Bill plays “Blest Be the Tie That Binds” (Powell) at the Saturday offering; Bill’s postlude, “Earth and All Stars” (Osterland).
